AN organisation which promotes the conservation of the Yorkshire Dales is on the lookout for projects which could benefit from a £3m fund.
The Dales Living Landscape programme was set up by the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust in 1997, with the assistance of a £1.5m grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Many grants have been distributed since then, helping groups to carry out 400 projects in the national park.
All the successful schemes have been designed to protect or enhance the landscape, wildlife, environment or community facilities in the Yorkshire Dales.
Time is running out for the next round of applications, which must be submitted by Friday, June 14.
The trust's projects administrator, Wendy Lawson, said: "This is an exciting opportunity for local people and organisations to protect the features and qualities of the Dales that they value.
"Although the programme runs until March 2004, we're particularly looking for projects which could start this year.
"Our application form is simple and we will help successful applicants to develop their ideas and attract additional funding where necessary."
Further information and application forms can be obtained by telephoning the trust on (01524) 251002.
