ESTON police station is to re-open to the public in response to a growing need for police to be more active in the community.
For the past four years, the station has been open for operational policing, but residents' committees in the Greater Eston area have expressed concerns about the closure of the front desk facility.
The police station is the base for the Community Policing Teams and the Langbaurgh Neighbourhood Task Group.
A member of support staff, who will run the desk, will be able to give advice on police issues and will be in contact with patrol officers.
People will be able to produce driving documents at the office and make appointments to see their local officers.
District commander, Chief Superintendent John Kelly, said: "I have received numerous requests to open Eston and see this initiative as a way of responding positively to the desires of the very active and concerned public of Greater Eston."
The station will re-open on July 1 and will be open every weekday, from 8am to noon
