SIX previous winners return to Bramham International Horse Trials near Wetherby this weekend.
They include Pippa Funnell, who won the world's biggest eventing prize, Badminton, at the beginning of May.
Ten nations are represented in a very strong entry of 114 horses. With the World Equestrian Games in Spain just over three months away, many riders will be at Bramham as part of their preparation.
Following the dressage section today, the highlight for many spectators will be the challenging cross-country tomorrow.
Course designer Sue Benson, a former event rider, has made several changes to the course, most notably the water element, which will now have to be jumped in both directions.
The climax of the competition will be the show jumping on Sunday.
Apart from the international event, Bramham is also staging the Hartpury College Under 25 Championship.
There are 42 entries for the inaugural running of this event, including Zara Phillips, daughter of the Princess Royal, on her own horse, Toytown
