Another emphatic win for Billingham Wolves in English Under-19 North Promtion/Relegation play-offs. Their final play-off game of the season brought a 17-2 victory away to Sheffield Scorpions.
Wolves went into the game without several players due to work commitments and handed a first Under-19 start to netminder Richard Griffiths and called up James Flavell as back-up as Michael Snook was working.
A good start for Wolves as Stephen Wallace put them ahead after 36 seconds and Jamie Pattison doubled the lead a minute later. By the end of the opening Billingham had increased their lead to 6-0, after strikes from Wallace, James Udell and Liam Telfer (2).
Flavell replaced Griffiths at the halfway stage and did not get off to a good start by conceding two goals in four minutes when his sides were short handed. Wallace and Telfer both scored in the second period to complete hat tricks. Wolves ran in further eight goals in the final period, six coming in the first eight minutes. Wallace scoring another three, Andrew Thornton bagging a brace and Pattison. Two Powerplay goals in the 59th minute from Udell and Shaun Buckley round off the scoring.

Whitley Tomahawks met Bradford Pirates at Hillhead in their final English Under-16 North Promotion/Relegation play-off match. Whitley already assured of retaining their North A League Status. The match was late in getting underway due to match officials not being assigned.
One coach from each side, Stuart Davies (Whitley) and Charlie Dacres (Bradford) began the match until referee David Emmerson was brought in. Philip Atherton and Rob Cairns put Whitley 2-0 ahead after 13 minutes.
Pirates pulled a goal back two minutes later to reduce the defecit. Whitley had much pressure in the middle period but only had one goal to show for their effort from Shaun Kippin.
There was only a Ben Campbell strike for Whitley in the final period to give them a 4-0 victory.

Sunderland Tomahawks travelled north of the border for the Kilmarnock Under-19 tournament. The Wearsiders missed out on a final place against Kilmarnock due to Blackburn having a better result against Kilmarnock than Sunderland.
Sunderland were unbeaten in their Round-Robin matches against Dumfries (3-2); Dundonald (5-0); South Ayr (8-0) and Kilmarnock (4-2). Against Dumfries Kristian Lloyd netted the winner after a 2-0 lead had been tied after 25 minutes.
Lloyd and Matt Chapman each bagged braces plus a Michael Allinson effort were on target against Dundonald. Adam Carr hit four as Allinson, Lloyd, Jonathan Huntley and Stephen Laidler struck against South Ayr.
John Westgarth, Carr, Lloyd and Allinson were Tomahawks scorers in their final match against Kilmarnock.
Kilmarnock defeated Blackburn 4-2 in the final.
Sunderland won the tournaments Fair Play trophy and defence man Stephen Laidler was named in the all-star team.

Sunderland were present at the Under-10, Under-12 and Under-14 tournaments at Nottingham over the weekend. Sunderland Apaches finished fourth out of five in the Under-10 event. All the tournaments were played on a league basis.
Apaches won 2-0 over runners up Kingston River Rats 2-0, with a brace from Matthew Izzatt. Winners Guildford Firestreaks won 4-2 with two late strikes against Apaches. Callum Davies and Alex Lawson Apaches scorers.
Bracknell Buzzers were next opponents and held Apaches I-I. Davies, Apaches lone scorer hosts Nottingham Pumas won 4-0 over Sunderland.

Sunderland Cherokees finished third out of five in the Under-12 event. Cherokees won 10-2 over Invicta Dynamites and 2-I against Peterborough Beavers to begin the event but suffered 0-8 and 0-10 to Nottingham Tiger Cubs and Kingston Rivermen respectively.

Commanches finished fourth of six in the Under-14 event. Nottingham Tigers and Invicta Devils were each beaten I-0 by Commanches. Dean Holland scoring the winner against Invicta and Nottingham's Callum Hewitt was the scorer in the I-I draw against Dutch side Den Haag.
Hewitt and Mark Robson replied against Kingston Aeros when trailing 0-3. Commanches tried to snatch a draw but Aeros held on. Cardiff Pee-Wee Devils and Commanches drew 0-0. Kingston won the event with nine points from ten.

Whitley Mohawks finished seventh in the Bracknell Under-14 tournament. Telford (0+2) and Invicta (0+3) began with wins over Whitley. A Danny Lamb Penalty show as Mohawks scorer in a 3-I loss to Swindon.
Scott Glover and a Jamie Tinsley double were the marksmen in a 6-3 loss to Basingstoke.
The 7th/8th place play-off tie brought Whitley a 3-2 win over Altrincham Tomahawks, Ben Moore scoring the winner in the final few minutes. Sam Zajac and Tinsley scoring the other goals.
Coaching staff and player of Whitley Bay made presentations to Scott Glover who along with his family are emigrating to Spain.
