Fosters Northumberland and Tyneside Under-15s
Greenside were all out for just 14 runs when they hosted Burnopfield for whom Tinnion claimed five wickets for a miserly four runs in 4.2 overs and Leigh Stoneman returned figures of four for seven in five overs. Burnopfield went on to win in quick time without losing a wicket.
Whickham defeated Swalwell by nine wickets after restricting their opponents to 71 which included 21 by Chris Warwick. John Davidson returned the excellent analysis of four for seven and Gavin Cree had three for 22 in the Whickham attack. Responding, Whickham lost just one wicket as Stuart finished unbeaten on 29.
Despite an undefeated half century by Andrew Smith Lintz went down by five wickets to Blaydon for whom Andrew Johnson took two for 21 when Lintz totalled 83 for two. Mark Mason, with 51 not out, steered Blaydon to victory even though Foster Noar captured four wickets for 14 runs in the Lintz attack. Several games were called off because of rain.
Fosters Northumberland and Tyneside Under-18s
Sacriston romped to a ten wicket victory at home to Whickham when Andrew Dixon carried his bat for 49 and Martin Hubber ended with 31 not out. Batting first, Whickham totalled 100-5 which included 35 by Eyes while for Sacriston Graeme Stephenson claimed four of the five wickets to fall for just 16 runs.
The game between Swalwell and Lanchester finished in a tie with the scores at 86.
Mark Gray top performed with 36 when Swalwell reached 86-6. Mark Ramshaw returned figures of 2-10 and Kevin Dixon 2-14 in the Lanchester attack.
Responding, Lanchester made 86-8 which included 29 not out by Ridley while for Swalwell Rob Grand took 2-10 and Peter Scott 4-18.
Annfield Plain had 100 runs in hand of Lintz who they sent back to the pavilion for just 21 runs. Leigh Harrison claimed 3-2 and both Saqib Khan and Navid Ahmed captured two wickets apiece.
When Annfield Plain made first use of the wicket they totalled 121-6 including 43 by Alan Leathley, 34 from Graeme Carr and 35 by Leigh Harrison. Moody had a good night with the ball for Lintz taking 5-26 in an impressive spell.
Ian Cox (36 not out) lead Consett to a match-winning 97-7 in their game with Chopwell at Blackfyne. Tamms and Bell both took three wickets for Chopwell who in reply just failed when they finished with 94-2. Wilkinson top performed with 43 and Minikin ended undefeated on 31.
An unbeaten 40 by Noel Allnut featured in Ryton's nine-wicket victory at Shotley Bridge who were all out for 57 as Wilkin returned the excellent figures of 4-12.
David Bailey (34) and Gary Stewart (35 not out) formed a good partnership before Stewart and Mark Cawthorne, with an unbeaten 38, also had a productive stand as Blaydon posted 123-2 in their game with Burnopfield who were 64-9 at stumps.
Boddingtons Durham Coast League Under-15s
Castle Eden just failed to overtake the formidable Boldon CA total of 147-3, losing by three runs. Liam Brown almost snatched victory for Castle Eden when he carried his bat for 74 and for Boldon CA Tony Lincoln claimed two wickets for only 18 runs.
When they batted first, Boldon CA were indebted to Karl Bellerby (62) and Kevin Storer (31) as they totalled 147-3.
Kit Allen was 41 not out when Hylton ended on 65-I responding to the Houghton total of 63-9 which included 35 by White. Brian Conlon had a good night with the ball for Hylton claiming four for just five runs.
Stephen Gale was again in super form for Dawdon in their game with Bill Quay. He rattled up 88 runs out of a total of 141-1 and in reply Bill Quay were 105-4 including 45 by Richardson.
When Price took four wickets for 11 runs Peterlee were all out for 68 at home to Easington but the visitors fared even worse managing only 54 when their innings closed. Dean Malt, with 3-5 and Jonathan Wylie (3-6) were the bowlers who did the damage.
John Crake had 3-16 when Murton made 62-8. Silksworth won by five wickets mainly as a result of an unbeaten 39 from Paul Howe while for Murton Chris Milne captured four of the five wickets to fall for just nine runs.
The Readers Durham County League Under-15s
Paul Hutchinson (43 not out), Oliver Burke (31) and Mark Bowey (25) lead Crook Town to a match-winning 109-4 when they hosted Ushaw Moor. The visitors struggled to 32-6 by the time their overs expired with Bowey claiming 2-5 and Peter Robinson also two wickets for five runs.
The Esh Winning batsmen also found run-making difficult in their home game with Langley Park and were all out for only 39. Clark claimed 3-5 and Moralee 2-16 for Langley Park, who batting first, ended on 116-3. Most of their runs came from Daniel Wilkinson with an unbeaten 74 and James Reay also carried his bat for 20. Andy Wilson was the pick of the Esh Winning bowling with figures of 2-32.
Brandon comfortably saw off the challenge from newcomers Washington by eight wickets. Required to score only 41, they did so in 10.I overs as Andrew Johnson hit four boundaries in 20 not out. Matthew Thompson claimed both the Brandon wickets to go down for ten runs in five overs.
When they made first use of the wicket Washington were all out for 40 as Brandon's Stephen Wallace, Joel Dalby and Chris Lawson all captured two wickets.
Mainsforth had 32 runs to spare winning at Shildon Railway who were all out for 51 as Pattison returned an analysis of 3-14 and Johnson captured three wickets for 20 runs. Batting first, Mainsforth finished with 93-3 which included 63 by Pattison.
Gavin Pattison Cup
Whitburn progressed to the next round with an eight-wicket victory against Ryhope who totalled 89-3 in their 20 overs. Most of the runs came from Miller who carried his bat for 50 and in reply Whitburn conceded just two wickets.
Robinson and Manda were the match-winners and after Robinson was dismissed for a well-played 41, Manda went on to carry his bat for 42.
Federation Special Durham Senior League Under-15s
Burnmoor had six wickets in hand when they visited Eppleton who, batting first, totalled 96 for the loss of seven wickets. Matthew Hooper was in food form with the bat striking no fewer than eight boundaries in a top scoring 45 and when Burnmoor responded with 97 for three they were indebted to Robertson whose 40 included six fours.
Gateshead Fell had the better of Sunderland by 26 runs. Mujib Majid top performed hitting three fours in 30, John Tennant carried his bat for 23 and Andrew Ported was 20 not out when Gateshead Fell totalled 98 for the loss of two wickets.
Sunderland responded with 72 for six including 25 by Little while Mujib followed up his good performance with the bat by capturing three for 11 in five overs.
Despite scoring almost 100, Philadelphia lost by eight wickets at Whitburn at Bunker Hill. Luke Anderson top scoring with 47 not out and Tony Price added 25 to the Phili total of 95 for seven. Locke took four for 16 and Prosser two for 16 for Whitburn who won when they replied with 97 for two. Robertson was their top scorer with an unbeaten 53 and Locke also batted well as he carried his bat for 25.
Paul Davidson was the leading run-maker for South Hetton against Horden. He hit a couple of sixes and five boundaries scoring 62 and Conway had one six and four fours in 53 not out when a total of 162 for two was posted before Horden were restricted to 60 for six.
Federation Special Durham Senior League Under-13 Cup
Whitburn reached the final with a five wickets victory at home to Philadelphia who, batting first, were restricted to 87 for nine.
Ashmore was the pick of the Phili batsmen as he carried his bat for 30 while for Whitburn Michael Turns claimed three wickets for six runs and Andrew Raine returned figures of two for 11.
Replying, Whitburn posted 91 for five and after losing half their batsmen cheaply they were indebted to Ryan Potts and Raine. The pair produced an unbroken partnership for the sixth wicket which won the game for the village side. Potts ended unbeaten on 29 and Raine was 25 not out when victory was secured. Keiran Waterson bowled well in the Philadelphia attack claiming two wickets for seven runs.
Bob Hay Under-18 Cup
Brandon just had the edge in Willington, winning by five runs after totally 79 for four from their 20 overs. Scott Hopson (24) and Andrew Johnson (23) provided most of the runs and when Willington replied they were restricted to 74 for seven which included 26 by John Askew. Jamie Robinson, who plays for Brandon U13s, starred with the ball and in five overs returned five for 12.
Carl McGregor was just four runs short of a century when Etherley played Coundon. He hit a couple of sixes and 11 boundaries in 96 not out leading Etherley to a match-winning 135 for three. Responding, Coundon were pegged to 67 for six with Tobin and Petrie both scoring 19. Chris Renshaw, with three for ten from five oovers and Richard Balmer, whose three overs produced two for 15, were the bowlers who restricted Coundon.
Ushaw Moor defeated Mainsforth by six wickets reaching the target of 64 when Craig Usher hit a couple of boundaries in a top scoring26.
When Mainsforth batted first, they ended on 63 for seven and Scott Nattress claimed five for 23 runs in five overs. Sweeney who struck one six and two boundaries in 26 and Hardwick, with two fours scoring 25, were the pick of the Mainsforth batsmen.
Alf Armes Under-15 Cup
The Castle Eden surged into the next round with a decisive victory against Peterlee. Liam Brown was Castle Eden's match-winner with the bat as he ended unbeaten on 70 out of 127 for three. Responding, Peterlee could only manage 53 all out which including 21 by Malt. Graeme Stonebank, Anthony Hart and Craig William all took two wickets in the Castle Eden attack.
Boldon CA also enjoyed as comfortable passage when they visited Murton. After totalling 109 for nine, Boldon CA sent Murton crashing to 37 all out when Under-13 captain Sam Wraith claimed a hat trick in six for four taken from four overs.
When they batted first Boldon CA ended on 109 for nine which included an unbeaten 53 from Shaun Erskine, who recorded two sixes and seven boundaries. Winter added 22, striking a couple of fours and for Murton Robbie Elliott bowled well claiming five for 21 in four overs.
One other tie went ahead and Dawdon defeated neighbours Seaham Park by eight wickets. Bird took four for four runs and Stephen Gale had three for two as Seaham Park were sent back to the pavilion with only 40 runs on the board. Gale, enjoyed a good season, then scored an unbeaten 32 out of Dawdon's match-winning reply of 41 for two.
The Readers Durham County League Under-18s
Langley Park suffered their first defeat visiting Esh Winning who ran out three wicket winners.
When they batted first Langley Park made a good start through a first wicket partnership of 47 between Daniel Williamson (25) and Andrew Smith (22) but when Mark Davison and spinner Scott Kimmins broke through, the innings collapsed to 90 for nine.
Davison ended with three wickets for ten runs in five overs, Kimmins had four for 22, also in a five overs spell and Stuart Hall gave excellent support, his five overs producing figures of two for 17.
Despite losing seven wickets, Esh Winning edged to victory as a result of another fine batting performance by Eddie Watson. He remained unbeaten on 66 hitting a couple of sixes and ten boundaries.
Newton Aycliffe overtook the Mainsforth total of 108 for six losing just two wickets. Chris Palmer recorded two sixes and four fours in an undefeated 55 taking his average in junior cricket for the season so far to 161. Ryan Wilson made a valuable 24.
Chris Hardwick found the boundary line on five occasions scoring 39 and Stephen Sweeney contributed 24 for Mainsforth while for Newton Aycliffe debutante Ryan Wilson, later to star with the bat, shone with the ball claiming four wickets for 23 runs in his five overs.
