THE Campaign for a North East Assembly (CNA) is meeting tomorrow to consult its members on proposed devolution in the region.
The outcome of the meeting, in Newcastle Civic Centre, from 10.30am to 1pm, will contribute to the CNA's formal response to the Government White Paper, Your Region, Your Choice, which outlines devolution proposals.
Tony Flynn, chairman of the existing North East Regional Assembly, will open proceedings, followed by brief contributions from Alan Beith MP, CNA chairman Ian Mearns and Suzanne Fletcher of the North East Constitutional Convention Women's Forum.
Working groups will discuss the process of creating the assembly, its proposed powers and structure.
The meeting is a closed session, but the results will be made available in a report.
