HISTORY-lovers can mark the longest day of the year with a three-hour ferry ride on the River Tyne, accompanied by TV historian John Grundy.
To celebrate summer solstice, on Friday, June 21, the Customs House, at South Shields, South Tyneside, and Nexus have organised a trip using Grundy's knowledge, the music of Johnny Handle and Bennie Graham, and the words of wisdom of Bard of Blaydon, Tom Kelly
Highlights include sailing under the Millennium Bridge.
The ferry will leave the Customs House Tyne landing, at Mill Dam, at 6.45pm. Tickets cost £11 (£10 concessions) and are available from the Customs House box office on 0191-454 1234.
