Two youngsters in the Northumberland and Tyneside Senior League Junior Division have set the game alight in the last couple of weeks, writes Malcolm Pratt.
David Richardson, who plays for Crookhall, has scored 150 not out and an unbeaten 121.
The higher score came in the game with Chopwell when he hammered eight sixes and 18 boundaries out of Crookhall's total of 231 for the loss of just two wickets.
In the next game, David again carried his bat, recording seven sixes and 14 fours as he finished on 121 when his side reached 212 without conceding a wicket.
Lanchester's Mark Ramshaw is also in the news after he claimed four wickets in four balls in the match with Consett. He ended with the magnificent figures of eight wickets for five runs in 4.5 overs, clean-bowling five of his victims.
