LEYBURN recorded a six-wicket victory at home to Richmond Mavericks in division one last week.
The visitors batted first and got off to a brisk start, with J Caldwell making 16 and P Croft an unbeaten 25 at No 3.
Runs started to dry up, but S Lawson gave good support with 14 and Mavericks finished with 85-6.
Leyburn's best bowler was P Barnard with good figures of 3-29.
Leyburn began slowly in reply due to tight bowling from S Lawson (1-20) and P Croft (2-18), but A Dawson scored 17 and the run rate started to pick up when P Barnard (29no) and B Jackson (19no) came together.
They saw Leyburn to victory in the 13th over at 89-4.
Thorp Perrow recorded their first win of the season in a low-scoring match at home to West Tanfield.
The visitors elected to bat and made steady progress against tight bowling, finishing on 68-6 from the 16 overs.
K Smirthwaite top-scored with 19 before being run out trying to increase the run rate. S Oyston was the pick of the bowlers with 4-18.
In reply, Thorp did the right thing by keeping wickets in hand.
Oyston also starred with the bat, making 26, and captain T Howard finished the game off with 15 not out.
Fourteen-year-old J Randle bowled very well to take 3-14, but Thorp Perrow ended up with 69-5 and the deserved winners in a close game.
Newton le Willows entertained Masham, whose skipper R Smirthwaite led from the front with an unbeaten 74. He was ably assisted by B Dudgeon with 27 as the visitors posted a fine 135.
In reply, Newton never got to grips with the run rate. Only K Bird, who hit four sixes in a row in his 43, troubled the bowlers.
Masham skipper Smirthwaite again got into the act with 5-21 and Newton were finally all out for 105.
In division two, Middleham travelled to Thornton Watlass and batted first.
They lost their first wicket with only one on the board, but a second-wicket stand of 53 between J Peacock (22) and B Dickens (30) made the score a little healthier.
But Middleham went on to lose another five wickets for only 13 more runs.
R Scott (17) and M Woodcock (11) stayed together to take the total to 90-9 from the 16 overs.
S Johnson took 3-15 off five overs in a fine spell of bowling, while A Singleton took two wickets in his first over and finished with 2-16 off four.
In reply, Watlass made a steady start, with A Singleton making 13 before being caught and bowled by B Dickens.
C Nicholson took the fight to Middleham with 38 and G Moses (13no) looked as if he was going to see Watlass through for the win, but kept losing his partners.
A nail-biting finish saw Watlass needing nine from the last eight-ball over
After hitting a boundary from the first ball and then losing a wicket from the second, they required three runs from the last ball to win.
They managed only one and Middleham won by one run. Dickens took 2-31 off five overs and M Woodcock 2-23 off three
