SHOPS in Darlington's Cornmill Centre were applauded for putting on a bit of style for the Queen's Golden Jubilee celebrations.
As part of festivities to mark the jubilee, all tenants in the shopping centre were encouraged to spruce up their shop windows with flags and bunting.
Organisers were very impressed with the response and praised shops for making so much effort in giving their windows a jubilee theme.
The winners were Home and Gift, on the ground floor of the centre.
Susan Young, Cornmill deputy manager, said the competition had been a huge success. She said: "We were delighted with the response and we want to congratulate all those who took part and made an effort. The centre looked fabulous and we especially want to congratulate the winners who made an outstanding effort.
