THE Queen's Golden Jubilee provided an ideal opportunity for a party to celebrate a new lease of life for a village's former primary school.
Villagers of all ages celebrated Skinningrove's new community centre, following a £239,000 facelift. Redcar and Cleveland Council Mayor, Coun Eric Jackson, officially opened Skinningrove's new centre, which now has a computer suite, a community internet caf, creche, a community room and office space.
The ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday also seemed a good excuse to enjoy Jubilee celebrations.
The scheme's co-ordinator, Amanda Buck, said: "We're really proud of the new facility and want to celebrate."
