A GARDEN feature with a difference is available for North-Easterners - if they have £6,000 to spare.
A privet hedge sculpture of the Angel of the North, 18ft by 15ft in size and weighing three-quarters of a ton, has been delivered to a Dobbie's Garden World, at Birtley, near Gateshead.
"We've had people in saying its better than the rusty old one on the hill," said the Durham Road centre's manager, Paul Travis-Anderson.
"We've done it as a tribute to the proper sculpture, to be honest, because we think it's great.
"We had it made by a company in Italy who built a frame and used some privet and three plants to fill it.
"At Christmas, we plan to use 2,500 white fairy lights to decorate it, unless anyone buys it for our asking price of £6,000 first.
