A BID for £500,000 has been made by Scarborough Borough Council to the EU's regional development fund, which could result in hundreds of new jobs for the resort's business park.
The aim is to expand the park, at Eastfield, by 170 acres and the Government's Leeds- based regional office is helping to fund the scheme.
The council has also made a bid to the EU to help fund other projects, including a feasibility study for the Spa complex where millions of pounds of investment is planned.
