A DARLINGTON store has launched its Get Involved campaign to help local sports and games groups.
Colleagues at Asda on Whinbush Way are asking customers to nominate good causes in the community which would benefit from practical help.
Asda is asking for nominations on a sporting theme to coincide with events on the sporting calendar, including the World Cup and Commonwealth Games.
Examples of schemes put forward could be repainting goal posts, mowing lawns at a bowling green and taking part in school sports days.
Once nominations are received, one project will be selected through a vote by colleagues. The team will have up to £300 to spend on equipment and materials.
Store manager Seane Wilkinson said that the store was very much a part of the community.
