A FURNITURE store has granted a poorly youngster's wish by donating a bed.
Barker and Stonehouse was approached by the Make A Wish Foundation to help 11-year-old Charlotte Cheeseman.
The youngster, from Springwell Village, near Washington, who is recovering from a brain tumour, said her greatest desire was to own a colourful bunk bed made by the firm.
Staff from Barker and Stonehouse's Newcastle store presented Charlotte with the gift.
James Barker, retail director at Barker and Stonehouse, said: "Charlotte has more to cope with than most and it's great to be able to give her something special and a whole new space to enjoy."
Jane Turner, Make A Wish's regional development executive, said: "The Stompa bed means that Charlotte can now make the most of her room, including a space for her new computer presented by the foundation as part of her wish."
Companies interested in helping grant poorly children's wishes should contact Ms Turner on 0191-270 8856.
