A NEW princess has been crowned in a North-East village - and for the first time she will be accompanied by two boys on her duties.
Charlotte Clewlow, 11, was named as Princess of Hurworth, near Darlington, and Matthew Hudspith and Joshua Robert were appointed as her princes.
The princess is chosen annually among students in their final year of junior school in the village.
This Sunday, Charlotte will take part in the annual Hurworth Gala Day, parading through the village in an open car before making a grand entrance at the community centre.
Ian Fletcher, of Hurworth Community Association, said:" It will be a fun day where every member of the family will be able to find an activity to enjoy."
Afternoon events will run from noon until 5pm and then there will be an evening of musical entertainment. Admission is £1 and all are welcome.
