PET lovers are invited to join the fun at a father's day event at the weekend.
The National Canine Defence League in Darlington is holding an open day on Sunday, from noon to 5pm.
The rehoming centre at Hill House Farm, Sadberge, will be opening its doors to anyone interested in finding out about the work done there.
Among the attractions will be a Dog and Dad Look-a-like competition and a Scrufts cross-breed contest, plus other dog shows.
Catherine Gillie, from the centre, said: "We are looking forward to a really fun day out for fathers and their families, but also hope the open day will give people a chance to see the 140 dogs we have that need a home."
Entry to the open day is £2 per car or free for people on foot. All profits will go to the centre. For more information call (01325) 333114.
