RESIDENTS in Stockton who are entitled to a bus pass are being urged to renew their right to travel as soon as possible.
Gold and Silver cards expire at the end of June and holders need to renew now to ensure they do not miss out on reduced price bus travel over the coming year. New passes are valid from July 1 to June 30, next year, and are being issued from the new Stockton Baptist Tabernacle until Friday, June 28.
The Gold Card scheme covers senior citizens and people who are registered blind.
Passes cost £5 per year, free for those registered blind, and entitle holders to travel anywhere within the boroughs of Stockton, Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland for a flat fare of 30p per journey.
The Silver Card scheme covers senior citizens and people with disabilities. Passes are free with holders travelling at half fare throughout the three boroughs.
To renew their passes, residents need to attend the Baptist Tabernacle in person with their current pass, proof of residency and, if applying for a Gold Card, £5.
