CHURCH communities will unite this weekend to present a festival of flowers and music to celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee.
St. Agatha at Easby is the setting for the celebrations of the churches of St Paul, Brompton on Swale, St Agatha, Skeeby and St Agatha, Easby.
The Golden Jubilee Festival in Flowers and Music begins at 6.30pm on Friday and continues until 8pm on Sunday.
The church, which pre-dates Easby Abbey, will be filled with floral displays sponsored by friends of the churches.
Muker Silver Band will play on the launch evening from 7pm onwards, and on Saturday, musicians from around the country will be performing. The organ will be played throughout the day and from 7.30pm a choir from Richmond Operatic Society will perform.
On Sunday, the parish celebratory act of worship for the Queen's Golden Jubilee will be the climax of the festival. It will be an informal service which will include hymns, readings chosen by members of the congregations, the Brompton Ladies Choir and instrumentalists.
Strawberry teas will be on sale on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, together with other light refreshments.
