PARISH councillors in Saltburn are supporting residents' opposition to plans for a hot-food takeaway.
They agreed that it may cause extra noise and smells and recommended to Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council rejected the application for 23 Milton Street in the town centre.
A report to the parish council said residents already suffer enough noise and pollution.
They also recommended the rejection of a plan to build a rear conservatory at The Cottage at Teddy's Nook, on Saltburn bank, because it would mean uprooting trees.
Another recommendation for rejection was for extensions at 3 Loraine Close, Marske, because of over-development. Members also had reservations about a plan for external lighting at Saltburn's NatWest Bank in Station Street
