Sedgefield 75: The Junior Waterpolo team played the return fixture with Durham School at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre.
The first game was a narrow win for Sedgefield in the small school pool. However in Aycliffe's longer and wider pool Sedgefield's superior team play and swimming power told dramatically and they ran out convincing winners 21-6. Carol Mohan who player of the game for Sedgefield due to her excellent technical skills and intelligent movement. She was ably supported by Scott Carpenter, David Farmer, Samantha Mitchell and Chris Gibertson. George Carpenter gave a solid display in goal.
The rest of the ream was Daniel Kellett, Claire Longley, Sarah Scott, Ben Richardson, Chris McEneany, Graham Johnson and Aidan Stonehouse.
Durham City
A total of 28 Durham City players, aged from 11-42 years, took part in the Jubilee Tournament at Catterick Garrison.
There were 15 matches in all for the various age groups, with the Durham Under-14 team the most successful with three wins and a draw from their four games. Other clubs taking part were Hucknall (Nottingham) and hosts Catterick. The tournament was followed by a barbecue in the army camp.
Later in the week the Durham Under-17 team won 7-5 away to Doncaster to complete a double in a close and exciting game.
