Catterick AWS: Catterick held their nerve in a penalty shoot-out to win a tournament at Nestle Roundtrees, York last month.
They beat home side Nestle Roundtrees 4-2 on spot-kicks after the game had finished goalless after extra time.
Catterick AWS had reached the semi-finals stage after coming runners up in the Group B qualifying rounds which took them into a clash with the Group A winners.
The semi-final was an intense and closely fought match and was finally decided in extra time with a fantastic goal from the skipper Jak Jex.
The final was a true test of grit and determination between against Nestle Roundtrees which was fought with very tired legs.
It finished 0-0 due to strong defensive play by Catterick AWS but thanks to the expertise of Jak Jex, Sam Burgess, who was crowned Man of the Day, Nathan Yeadon and Ryan Heaps from 12 yards Catterick took the title.
Willington
Willington Under-18s manager Robert Lee got a pleasant surprise at the team's annual presentation night at the Willington FC Hall Lane clubhouse.
Lee was presented with on engraved watch and a bottle of whisky on behalf of the players. The watch was inscribed to "Bobby Lee's blue and white army." Lee guided his charges to three cup wins this last season, the three trophies associated with the Auckland and District Ebac Youth League.
The team won three cup finals in six days, the Lady Eden Hospital Cup, the South West Durham Presidents Cup and the league cup. The team also finished fourth in the league and reached the final of the Durham County Youth Cup for the first time.
The presentation was made by club captain Stuart Rand. "It was a great surprise to have a presentation from the players, but they have given me a great deal of pride. It has been a tremendous season, and it was a tremendous night on which to finish," said Lee.
"Stuart Rand has been with us for three years. He is totally dedicated to the club, he is a great player and a great asset to the team." said Lee.
The Willington under-18 player of the year is Max Applegarth. The players' player is Michael Sanderson, Wayne Booth is the sportsman of the year, and Paul Bailes received the top scorer award for his 30 goals.
Spraire Lads
The Under-8s made the short trip to play in the Allstars tournament and Spraire finished top of their group, scoring 12 goals and conceding none as Spraire won four games and drew the other.
Top scoring in the group stages were Kerry Hedley , Zac Tervit and Danny Stead with three goals each.
The semi final was a much tighter affair against a strong Barnard Castle team, with Spraire going through 1-0 with a James Bennett free kick winning the game.
This set up a final against the home team Allstars but Spraire lost a close game 1-0.
A special mention must go to Ben Tervit who played excellent in goal after the usual keeper was unavailable on holiday.
Other squad members were Matty Bowers, Ryan Allinson, Matty Plumb and Wilson Kneeshaw
