Teesside Steelers maintain their 100 per cent record with a solid 35-24 win at Rotherham, player coach Phil Gowing starring with a personal haul of 23 points as Steelers fought back from an early 8-2 deficit. Not only are the Steelers well clear in the North-East Division they once more top the RLC's national composite table.
Newcastle Knights rekindled their play-off hopes with an impressive 14-8 defeat of Bridlington Bulls. The Knights established a 14-2 half-time lead and magnificent defence restricted the visitors to one try in the second half.
Durham Tigers' revival continues climbing to second in the table after a 39-16 win at Sunderland. Player-coach Rob Jones was star of the show scoring two tries, six goals and three drop goals.
All games were played on Saturday, June 8.
