Young dancers for Pop Life: A Billingham theatre group is on the look-out for promising young dancers.
Academy Five, at Cleveland Theatre School in Belasis Avenue, Billingham, is looking for dancers of all abilities aged from 13 to 17. Successful applicants will take part in a show by the theatre group in September called Pop Life. The group is hoping for imaginative dancers who can create their own moves. CHILDMINDING BID: Stock-ton Borough Council has received a planning application from Leighton Dee and Jane Walton to create a childminding business for up to 12 children in Fairfield Road, Stockton.
NEW SURGERY: Dr Sandeev Gupta has applied to Stockton Borough Council for permission to change the use of offices in Yarm Lane, Stockton, into a cold food takeaway on the ground floor and a private doctor's surgery on the first floor.
IN BLOOM: A flower festival will be held at St Cuthbert's Church, Middleton on Leven, between Hilton Village and Hutton Rudby, from 11am to 5pm on June 22 and 23. Food will be available.
EASTERN PROMISE: Beautiful Bulgaria is the talk to be presented by Peter Grainger at a meeting of Cleveland Retired Men's Association, at 10.30am next Wednesday, at the Regency Hotel, Redcar.
DAY OUT: The Friends of Sunnyfield House will hold a summer fair at the Westgate Centre, Guisborough, on Saturday, from 10am to 4pm.
FRUIT TEA: A strawberry tea is to be held in Seaton Carew to raise money for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. It will be held at Meadowfield Court, in Elizabeth Way, on Saturday, June 29, between 2pm and 4pm. Tickets cost £1, and include a scone, strawberries and cream and tea or coffee.
PRAYING FORCE: The Reverend John Ford has been appointed chaplin to Cleveland Police and will have a role in emergency planning and response to incidents. Currently vicar of Whorlton with Carlton and Facey, he will act as priest of the Parish of Stainton.
NOVEL SERVICE: Two Social Service advisors will offer a confidential service as well as information leaflets each week at Loftus and Skelton Libraries, from Tuesday.
SURE THING: A convoy of 20 coaches is to transport 5,000 parents and children from Teesside to the first Sure Start Summer Celebration at Kirkleatham Hall Museum's grounds, Redcar, on June 23
