Spennymoor Friendly League
Derek Butler proved to be the star of the Trimdon side when he took one of their two points on their visit to Wolviston King's Arms A.
Derek was only playing his third game but managed to make his first win by beating Fraser Dixon, who did not have a good night for the home side as he also lost the captain's game to John Quinn. The King's winners were Bill Povey, Micky Hann, Gary Rafferty and Terry Ward with the same four players joining up to take both the doubles points.
The league's officials, and all the players send their best wishes to Sid Saxby, the organiser of the Wheatley Hill Scouts team, for a speedy recovery from his recent stroke.
Always an enthusiastic and popular man around the quoits circuit everyone looks forward to his quick return to action.
In the other matches Spennymoor Half Moon were whitewashed at Stockton Elm Tree, whilst the Scouts only took one point from the visiting champions, Wolviston King's Arms B.
