CHILDREN from primary schools on both sides of the Tyne are joining musical forces to sing the praises of the Gateshead Millennium Bridge and the other famous bridges along the river's banks.
Pupils from Falla Park and Highfield schools in Gateshead, and Wharrier Street and St Bede's RC schools in Newcastle, will perform their songs in front of an invited audience overlooking the award-winning bridge.
The event is held at the Gateshead Quays Visitor Centre on Tuesday.
It will feature songs by John Treherne, head of Gateshead Council's Schools Music Service, each about a different Tyne bridge.
Pupils also composed their own songs, from Falla Park's Bridge Blues, to a folk song from Wharrier Street Primary.
Pupils at Highfield and St Bede's produced a joint song after becoming musical pen friends with each other.
