Durham and District League
The last two unbeaten records in the league were lost when Langley Park went down by two points at Trimdon in the Second Division and Murton went down by a similar score at Newton Hall. However both teams were able to hold on to their top spots.
In the First Division Shotton pulled off the win of the day when they restricted the visiting Ever Ready/Craghead to just two points. The home side won by 82 shots to 62.

The position at the top of the First Division was tightened after Crook Glenholme whitewashed the visiting Bowburn, whilst the leading Leeholme struggled to beat their hosts at Coxhoe by two points. This left Leeholme one point ahead of Glenholme, who lead Mainsforth by seven points.
Whilst the Second Division leaders, Langley Park were losing by two points the second placed Witton Gilbert performed worse and only took two points from their home match against Brandon. This allowed Langley Park to extend their lead to eight points with Addison Park two points behind Witton Gilbert.
In the Third Division Chilton edged through to beat the visiting Belmont by 75 shots to 73 but the visitors took three rinks to win by two points. The rink scores were (Chilton names first) Walter Henderson 24 Harry Lowrie 8; Joe Jones 16 Bill Cooper 20; Michael Younghusband 18 Albert Matthewson 23; Jimmy Thompson 17 John Moore 22.
Despite losing Murton still lead the Third Division by five points from Newton Hall, who lead Willington Spectrum by three points.

There was a major shock in the Preliminary Round of the Double Pairs Knock Out when Shildon Town, who have yet to drop a point in the league, failed at the first hurdle when the visiting Fishburn side comprehensively beat them.
In the Spennymoor Derby almost produced a second shock when the B team from the Third Division just failed to beat their First Division A team. The A team edged through by four shots. Rink scores (B team names first) J. Allaker 21 J. Fawcett 9; C. Robson 11 W. Bell 28.
In an all Second Division tie, Shildon Railway A just pipped the visiting Langley Park A by three shots. The rink scores (Shildon names first) were B. Richardson 17 W. Davies 12; A. Fryatt 12 M. Riley 14.

After three heavy defeats Spennymoor Jubilee moved off the bottom with a big win against Spectrum. Glenholme leap frog previous leaders Spennymoor A after winning for the third time in a row. Shildon Town A beat the Town B side comfortably and lead the way in division two.
