Despite a ninth wicket partnership between Mike Gratton (24) and Gareth Hogarth (22) which produced 47 runs, Skelton Castle were all out for 128 in 45 overs when they hosted Dormans. Craig Dale was in super form with the ball for Dormans and in 13 overs he claimed six wickets for 25 runs.

Replying Dormans won with four wickets in tact as they reached the target in 38 overs. Grosvenor hit three boundaries in 30 and Asif Iqbal carried his bat for 47 finding the line on five occasions. Darren Riley, 14, bowled well in the Skelton Castle attack and was well worth his figures of three for 31 from seven overs.

Ormesby Hall and Boosbeck drew their match and at the close of play only 12 runs and two wickets separated the sides.

Pennington (33) and Leech (25) enabled Ormesby Hall to total 138 all out while for Boosbeck Ward returned the excellent analysis of six for 29 and Richardson took three wickets for 53 runs.

When they went into bat Boosbeck finished with 126 for eight which included a top scoring 39 by Weatherhead. Davies almost won the game for Ormesby Hall when he took five wickets for 44 runs.

Jack Hatfield Sports held on for a draw when they visited Staithes. When stumps were drawn the visitors were 139 for nine which included an excellent innings of 63 by Bilal before Sutton and Metcalfe batted out time. Brown, with four for 51 and S Theaker (3-23) were in good form for Staithes and Thornton, introduced as fifth change, claimed a couple of wickets for three runs.

Batting first Staithes declared on 185 for five as the runs flowed from Thornton (31) and Ward with a well played 49.

The Merlin made the respectable total of 147 which included an unbeaten 83 by Burdon who went in at number three, but they still lost at Hinderwell.

Theaker took six of the Merlin wickets for 59 runs and replying Hinderwell realised 149 for the loss of only three wickets. Spencley (30), Duell (39) and Sivills with an unbeaten 48 were all in form with the bat for Hinderwell.

Normanby Parklands made 146 for eight before bowling out Paragonians for just 78.

Ayub top scored with 64 and Ramzan added 37 to the Parklands total, while for Paragonians Crear claimed four wickets for 30 runs.

His performance with the ball was over-shadowed by that of Walker in the Parklands attack. He proved difficult to play as he ended with eight wickets for a meagre 33 runs and despite opening batsman Burton making 43, Paragonians were all out for 78.

Loftus had 99 runs to spare when they visited Norton who were all out for 76 as Morrison claimed seven wickets for 41 runs.

Batting first Loftus posted 175 for five with Peirson making 67 and Barritt an unbeaten 61. Three of the five wickets to fall were taken by Armstrong at a cost of 25 runs.

In division two Moorsholm were all out for 74 in 41.5 overs at Loftus for whom Steve Pearson returned two for 16, Chris Morrison two for 18 and Terry Shaw six for 22 from his 10.5 overs.

In reply Loftus lost early wickets but eventually won with six wickets in tact as Steve Pearson contributed 22 and Stuart Tyreman 18 runs. Victory was achieved in 27.I overs.

New Marske were all out for 89 but still won by six runs against Brotton who were dismissed for 83 as Broughton took three for nine and Smith three for 22. Alderson, with the excellent analysis of seven for 29, was mainly responsible for New Marske's low total.

Ormesby Hall managed just 63, but made Cowpen Bewley fight all the way before the home side won by two wickets. Carr captured seven wickets for 13 runs for Cowpen Bewley and when Ormesby Hall fielded Roberts (4-30) and Pelling (3-13) almost snatched the game out of the fire for their team.

Normanby Parklands and Blacksmiths Arms drew their high scoring game. Batting first Parklands reached 193 for five as Scrafton and Flynn both made half-centuries and Mead added 38.

Responding Blacksmiths Arms lost their first two batsmen for a combined total of 16 runs, but Barker, who went in at number three, held the innings together and at stumps a total of 122 for seven had been posted. Hetherington (20) and King (22) also made valuable contributions to the Blacksmiths Arms' innings.

Dormans Town had 63 runs in hand of Skelton Castle. When they made first use of the wicket Dormans Town recovered from a poor start and declared on 176 for the loss of three wickets. Lloyd carried his bat for 79 and Robson scored 44.

Skelton Castle struggled to 113 all out which included an unbeaten 28 by Hirst.

Lloyd completed a magnificent all round performance by taking five wickets for 40 runs and Mitchell returned the excellent analysis of four for 46
