VILLAGERS on Wearside plan to continue Golden Jubilee celebrations this weekend.
People at South Hylton will hold a festival in honour of the Queen's landmark anniversary at the village's primary school today.
The event is being staged from 11am to 5pm, and activities include line dancing, an antiques fair, at which residents can get items valued, a fancy dress competition, poetry and arts competitions and a tea party for children.
The village's jubilee queen will ride in style as a procession of floats makes its way along South Hylton Bank.
Later on, there will be an evening of entertainment in the village's Royal British Legion Club.
The festival is being organised by the village's residents' association, community association and school parent- teacher association.
Funding has come from the Single Regeneration Budget, Awards for All and the residents' own efforts.
Residents' association secretary Edna Rochester said: "It has taken us months to organise the festival and a lot of hard work has been put in by everyone involved."
