A 39-year-old man is in intensive care after he was assaulted outside a nightclub yesterday.
The victim was last night in a stable condition in Middlesbrough General Hospital following the attack outside the Bongo club, in the town's Sussex Street.
Two other men were taken to hospital after the incident but were released after treatment.
Two men, both from Middlesbrough, are being held in custody over the incident.
