MATCH of the Day kicks-off at noon today for England fan David Frostick.
The Hartlepool United die-hard could be forgiven for allowing his thoughts to drift away while walking down the aisle.
Because as England are taking on Denmark with a place in the quarter-finals of the World Cup at stake, David, 26, of Bishop Cuthbert, Hartlepool, gets married to Louise Hind, at Hartlepool's Stranton Church, at noon.
Missing the game is just as bad for Matty and Lisa Dawkins. They will be in Stranton Church when a fortnight ago they were in Saitama cheering on David Beckham, Michael Owen and the boys.
David said: "All we can do is accept it. I was praying for England to score against Nigeria so we could win the group and play on Sunday.
"Since the World Cup draw was made we knew we could be getting married at the same time they are playing. I would imagine Mark Johnson, my best man, will be having a few laughs at my expense in his speech. All we can do is try and catch a bit of it after the service.
"I'm sure some of the lads will be rushing into the pub next to the church to watch it. The best I can do is get someone to bring a mini TV so I can try and watch some on the way to the reception.''
If England progress to a likely game with Brazil next Friday, the newly-weds will have to find a television in the Dominican Republic.
