GUISBOROUGH'S Chris Gent will be spending time at work persuading others to follow in his footsteps.
The 33-year-old seargent joined the Green Howards 14 years ago and has since served all over the world, including Bosnia, Northern Ireland, the Falklands, Kenya, Egypt, Brunei and Germany.
He is now the new face at the recruiting office at Catterick Garrison, where his job is to talk potential soldiers about life with the Army.
"It's great to be back on my home ground to help the regiment with its recruiting," he said. "I'm looking forward to meeting lots of keen lads from Teesside and North Yorkshire to tell them what a great life they will have in the Green Howards.
