A MAN who hit a takeaway shop customer over the head with a bottle was jailed for 18 months yesterday.
David Stansfield, 21, of Fairfield Street, Darlington, was locked up after admitting a charge of unlawful wounding at Teesside Crown Court.
His victim, Elliott Reeves, suffered a 2cm cut to his head in the attack outside the Greedy Goblin takeaway shop, in the town's Skinnergate.
In police interview, Stansfield said he had had no intention of hurting Mr Reeves and had only pulled out the bottle to frighten him.
He said he had drunk five or six bottles of alcopops
