IT may not be a case of love thy neighbour in a Darlington street today.
England fan Paul Hilton, 28, and his Danish neighbour Bjarne Hogh, 39, will be at loggerheads as they watch the England v Denmark match.
The pair, who live next to each other in Vine Street, Darlington, are both adamant that their own teams will win to get through to the next stage of the World Cup.
They will be watching the game together on TV, but both insist that the football rivalry will be friendly.
Bjane's girlfriend, Clare, has bought him a Danish flag to hang outside the house as a rival to Paul's St George's flag.
She said: "They are both good friends and will be watching the match together.
"Paul keeps saying that England will win, but Bjarne obviously wants Denmark to win.
"I bought Bjarne a Danish flag to hang outside the bedroom window. It took me ages to find one in Darlington, but he loves it.
"I am sure it will be friendly rivalry between them. They are good mates."
