Grassroots fan Peter Miller has a lawn of hope and glory.
The England fanatic has transformed his back garden into a giant flag of St George in tribute to Sven's heroes.
It took ten litres of white emulsion and a tin of red to make the 20m x 15m flag.
Mr Miller, 51, of Forest Hall, North Tyneside, said: "I was sitting in my conservatory having a cup of coffee when the idea struck me. The whole family are big England fans and I thought it would be great to have a giant flag on our lawn. So I went out that day and bought three big tins of paint and set about the job."
The communications firm boss enlisted the help of his son Philip, 22, and pal Ian Young, 45. They marked out the shape of the flag in masking tape and then painted in the colours.
Mr Miller said: "It took us six hours to finish it but I think it looks brilliant.
"It will be with us for the rest of the World Cup and I hope it brings England luck.
"I am confident we can beat Denmark and possibly go all the way.
