Two years ago Channel 4 news presenter Jon Snow was offered an OBE. He declined to accept it (on the grounds it would compromise his journalistic integrity) but wondered how his nomination came about. He finds out in Secrets Of The Honours System (C4, 8pm).
BEST DOCUMENTARY
The second part of The Hollywood Machine (BBC1, 8.20pm) looks at financing movies, something of a lottery given that no one has a surefire recipe for box office success. Director Oliver Stone and 007 actor Pierce Brosnan are among contributors.
BEST EXPOSE
Reputations (BBC2, 9.10pm) focuses on Frankie Howerd, whose private life, like that of so many comics, was no laughing matter. He suffered from depression, money problems, sexual confusion and underwent LSD-assisted therapy. Titter ye not.

BEST DOCUMENTARY
Inside My Head (C4, 8pm) is a series of three documentaries about young people with mental illnesses. Michael, who's 16 and a schizophrenic, is the first subject and the result is a harrowing film.
BEST GARDENING
Alan Titchmarsh and his helpers head for the Falkland Islands in Ground Force Goes South Atlantic (BBC1, 8pm) to transform a site in Stanley. Let's hope they don't upset the penguins.
BEST SPORT
Maradona: The Good, The Mad And The Ugly (C5, 8pm) profiles the Argentinian footballer, while Bobby Moore - World Cup Hero (BBC2, 9pm) tells the story of the England captain who led his team to World Cup victory in 1966.
BEST DRAMA
Ricky Tomlinson plays a Liverpool private eye in the new series Nice Guy Eddie (BBC1, 9pm). He's trying to find out if the young man who's just entered his life is really his son. Meanwhile John Nettles returns as the sleuthing detective Tom Barnaby in more Midsomer Murders (ITV, 9pm). He's investigating the murder of the leader of a local literary club in this opener.
