A RACE to raise money for cancer charities has been launched in Darlington.
It is the first time Race For Life, a national initiative that holds races throughout the country, has held the event in the town.
Staff at the tourist information centre in Darlington's Market Place will be putting on their running shoes for the Darlington Race for Life in South Park on July 14.
Supervisor Glenis Dodds and workers Karen Stephenson, Ailsa Quarmby and Sue Minto will be taking part.
The event is for women only and participants can walk, jog or run the three miles of the course.
Money raised from the event will be used to help prevent and treat various forms of cancer.
Entry forms for the race can be obtained from Darlington tourist information shop, the Dolphin Centre and the Eastbourne Sports Complex.
