A DRAMA society will celebrate 50 years of entertaining next year - and wants former members to join in. The Bedale and District Amateur Dramatic Society will be holding its golden jubilee in 2003 and plans are being made for a monthly series of events. Feast date: Scotton Feast takes place on Saturday, on the village hall field. Events start with a parade at 1.45pm. The annual match between teams from Scotton Cricket Club and the Guy Fawkes pub will be staged the next day, at 2.30pm.

Complaint rejected: North Yorkshire County Council's standards committee has voted unanimously not to uphold a complaint by Councillor Richard Thomas against Councillor Bill Hoult. The complaint concerned a newspaper article in February, in which Coun Hoult was quoted as describing a press protocol adopted by the council as "control freakery which Robert Mugabe would be proud of".

Pilot graduation: A graduation of student pilots takes place at RAF Linton-on-Ouse on Friday, between 9am and noon. Nine Tucano aircraft will fly past as a tribute to the students passing the course. The viewing area on the Linton to Aldwark road is open to the public.

RURAL SHOW: The annual rare breeds and gardening day proved a success at the Ryedale Folk Museum, in Hutton-le-Hole, yesterday. Shetland and Hebridean sheep were among the rare livestock breeds exhibited.

CHOIR DATE: An American choir is performing at the United Reformed Church in Priory Street, York, tonight. The event starts at 7.30pm and tickets, costing £3, will be available at the door.

COUNCIL MEETS: Kirkbymoorside Town Council meets tonight, at 7.30pm, in the memorial hall.
