YOUNG railway enthusiasts were given a treat over the weekend when children's favourite Thomas the Tank Engine visited the region.
Hundreds of youngsters flocked to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway to see the popular character and friends, including the Fat Controller. The Day Out with Thomas event has proved a major success on previous visits to the county, particularly at the National Railway Museum in York. Peggy the Lambton engine was on show at the event.
