POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault in Darlington.
A man was left lying in the street with a broken leg, after he was attacked by a group of youths in the town's Kendrew Street, on Friday.
Inspector Ian Coates said: "We have arrested three people in connection with the attack, which I can only describe as a very serious assault. He had a very badly broken leg and was taken to hospital to receive treatment.
"We have released three males on police bail, and we are still looking for another suspect, but as yet we have not pressed any charges.
"We would urge anyone who saw the incident or was in the Kendrew Street area of the town at around 7.15pm on Friday to contact us."
Anyone with information about the attack is asked to contact Darlington police, on (01325) 467681.
