Plans for improvements to a village green will go on show now that more cash has been secured to carry out the next phase of work.
Some improvements have already been made to the green in Billy Row, near Crook, but the second stage has been given the go-ahead thanks to grants from the Single Regeneration Budget and Neighbourhood Renewal Fund.
Billy Row Community Association had worked with environmental group Groundwork West Durham to finalise plans, which will be displayed in the post office, school and shop.
Work to be carried out includes installation of paving and bollards to protect corners and the reinstatement of a wreath holder around the war memorial.
It is hoped local school children will be involved in tree planting around the village
