Hartlepool College of Further Education has been presented with a national award for its New Deal provision.

The award was presented by Margaret Hodge MP, minister for life-long learning to Hartlepool College Principal and chief executive Anthony Sutcliffe and New Deal operations manager Paul Marshall.

Sponsored by Eversheds, the award for New Deal Provision is designed to recognise and commend initiatives of proven, outstanding quality and effectiveness.

Paul Marshall, New Deal operations manager at the college, said: "The college is particularly committed to the needs of learners under the New Deal provision and we are delighted that our commitment has been recognised by receiving this national award.
