Both the leading darts teams recorded maximum victories so that Cockton Hill still lead the table by one point from Crook Belle Vue, who have a match in hand.

Cockton Hill whitewashed the visiting Newfield, whilst Crook Belle Vue never droppd a point at Willington. Byers Green are in third place, three points behind the Crook side.

There were maximums for Colin Barron of Crowtrees, Roy Brown, Tony Nixon and Kenny Nicholson all from Ferryhill. The best check out of the week came from Billy Edwards of Crowtrees with 156, whilst the quickest finish came from Phil Nixon of Crowtrees with a thirteen darter.

Middlestone Moor lead the dominoes by one point from Byers Green, who are three ahead of Chilton, who have a match in hand. Ferryhill are two points ahead in the pool section, with Cockton Hill one ahead of the Victoria.

Crook Travellers Rest A pulled off a shock victory over their hosts, the strong Crook Belle Vue team in the semi-final thanks to a fine performance at dominoes. The home side had pool wins from John Warriner, Ian Hodkinson and Pip Samson, whilst the Travellers replied with wins from Scott Weston and Dave Poulter. This quickly changed at dominoes where only John Warriner managed a point for the Club. John Carroll, Dave Poulter, Terry Davis, Steve Todd and Derek Wood took the Travellers into the First Division Final, where they will meet Crook Olde Horse Shoe A.

In the Second Division semi-final at Crook Golden Fleece the visiting Crook Jelly's Bar A held the home side to a draw at pool with wins from Kevin Carter, John Gibson and Andrew Heyes, whilst Paul Futter, Stephen Fairgrieves and Chris Mollett won for the Fleece. Julie Heslop and Corinne Heslop took dominoes points for the Fleece but Jelly's went to victory with wins from Clive Witton, Norman Jones, Andrew Heyes and Keith Dixon. In the Second Division Final, Jelly's A will face Willington Market.

Willington Summer League

Nine teams have entered this year's league, which has a format of three groups of three teams playing on a round-robin basis with eight teams moving through to the knock out stage.

Willington Commercial only managed to pick up three darts points from their visit to Sunnybrow Brown Trout when Len Glasper and Des Ayre added singles points to a trebles win. The home side's dominoes points came from Les Welch, Derek Brazier and Ronnie Welch.

Willington Club had the best result of the first week when they beat the visiting Willington Black Horse Inn by four points. The Club only dropped darts points in the five man game, whilst the visitors had singles dominoes wins for Cath Hunt and Peter Hutchinson, with Ian Mavin and Cath Hunt adding a doubles point.

The tension was high in the other match when Willington Brewer's Droop and the visiting Willington Lion and Unicorn reached seven each. John Bolam took the final darts singles to edge the visitors ahead but this was cancelled out when the Brewer's equalised with the dominoes doubles win from Keith Newton and Jason Gibson

First week's results, with teams finding their feet in a new format of matches: Sunnybrow Brown Trout 9 Willington Commercial 7; Willington Club 10 Willington Black Horse Inn 6; Willington Brewer's Droop 8 Willington Lion and Unicorn 8.

Next weeks fixtures see the three remaining teams begin their campaign when Willington Cottles visit the Commercial, Willington Market visit the Black Horse Inn and Willington Burn visit the Lion and Unicorn.
