A Yarm School rowing team made it to the Men's Elite Coxless fours final at last weekend's 168th Durham Regatta.
Competing against more than 60 other crews - many of them older and more experienced, the upper-sixth form oarsmen beat Northumbria University in the semi-final. They were beaten in the final by Palatine, a team consisting of Durham University old boys who are members of Great Britain's under-21 crew.
Richard Harandon, Yarm School's master in charge of rowing, said: "The race was the premier event of the day. I was delighted with our boys' performance.
" We recently won gold at Nottingham and are entering the Great Britain trials in July."
