FIRE ripped through a north-west Durham factory in the early hours of yesterday - weeks after one of area's worst ever fires at the same site.
The blaze in a storage area at E & R Polymers rubber factory, on the Ever Ready Industrial Estate, Tanfield Lea, near Stanley, County Durham, was easily contained.
Firefighters used one reel to extinguished the flames. Arson was not suspected.
In April, a fire at the site caused up to £500,000 worth of damage and destroyed 4,000 bales of rubber and 50,000 litres of oil. Flames reached 50ft in the air and could be seen from Newcastle. Police are still investigating
