ENGLAND fan David Maclure has put his shirt on Sven's men in a wager with his Brazilian girlfriend.
It has been bliss for David and pretty brunette Rachel Barlow since they met eight months ago. But this Friday the couple are hoping their relationship can weather the storm of the World Cup quarter-final clash.
Both are avid fans of their respective countries and have a small wager riding on the result.
If Brazil win, 21-year-old David has to wear a Brazil shirt non-stop for a week. If England are victorious, Rachel has promised to don the Three Lions.
Rachel, also 21, who has British relatives, is an international student at the University of York, where David also studies.
He said that Friday morning would be a tense time in their York house.
"Rachel is originally from Recife, on the east coast of Brazil, and is very emotional about her football," said David.
"She has cried while watching an interview with Rivaldo because it reminded her of home.
"The match is very important to us and we are wondering if our relationship will weather the storm.
"If Brazil win I have to wear a Brazil shirt for a week. If that's the outcome, I may get a lot of stick every time I walk into the city."
