SOCCER fanatic Michael Mime is hoping Brazil really get the point at today's needle match.
As an England supporter he's sure the match will be as hard as nails - so he's decided to lie on a bed of more than 1,000 of them.
The York street performer hopes his early morning city-centre stunt will send out enough positive energy to Sven's men to help them blunt the Brazilian attack.
But he won't miss a second of the match when he lies down for his 90-minute ordeal - as he will also be balancing a portable television on his chest.
"I'm very nervous about it and will have to really concentrate. It's quite painful but meditation helps," said Michael, from Bishophill.
"There is nothing to stop a nail going through my boxer shorts if England score, but my bum is very resilient."
He added: "My friends think I've lost it completely and need my head checking but this isn't a pointless exercise.
"I'm sending a positive, strong vibe to the players in the Far East to help them beat Brazil.
