POLICE investigating the mystery death of busker Tony Grayson have launched a poster campaign in an effort top enlist the public's help.
More than 100 posters are being put up in the centre of York, where the 38-year-old was a familiar sight busking with his dog Benji.
Mr Grayson died in the flat he shared in George Street, off Walmgate, with fiance Jackie Dawson.
Police are trying to piece together his movements between May 20 and June 4 - the day he died.
A post-mortem examination revealed Mr Grayson had suffered injuries thought to have been caused by kicking.
York detectives are working with colleagues in Essex, as Mr Grayson was attacked by three men in Colchester over the weekend of May 25 and 26.
Police are trying to trace two men, known as Irish Danny and Old George who were seen there with Mr Grayson and are investigating information that Mr Grayson, who was part of York's drug using community, was attacked in York days before he died.
