Adele Wright is staying one step ahead of the booming housing market by camping outside her dream home.
The six-bedroomed detached house will be available on a first come, first served basis on Saturday.
On Tuesday, developer Charles Church sent letters to people who were interested and Ms Wright immediately took five days holiday from Joplins department store, in Sunderland, where she works as a financial clerk. She has been spending her days in a tent on the High Grange estate, in Washington, Tyne and Wear. Husband Ian, 40, arrives for the night shift at 6pm.
Ms Wright said: "It may seem an extreme thing to do, but the housing market is so crazy at the moment that you have to be determined."
