Teesside International Airport has teamed up with a regional advertising agency to encourage more people to use it.
Lateral Advertising, of Sunderland, will lead a campaign aimed at making people aware of the flights available from the airport and presenting it as a viable alternative to Newcastle and Manchester airports.
The campaign will begin in August, traditionally the busiest period for booking holidays for the following year.
Richard Whitehouse, commercial manager of Teesside International Airport, said: "We are delighted to be working with Lateral whose understanding of the brief, coupled with their excellent creative solutions, made them a clear choice to help us raise the profile of Teesside International Airport and build upon the success we have enjoyed."
Lateral was formed last year, and counts Kavli, makers of Primula Cheese, and Transco among their clients. Managing director Alex Giles said: "The Teesside Airport account is a measure of the success this relatively new company has enjoyed.
